William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, had just completed a $227 million expansion and wanted to create a “healing” garden as a focal point for patients and visitors.
Strategic Solution
As part of a project team including landscape architects, civil engineers and the general contractor, H.B. Stubbs Companies provided value engineering, fabrication and on-site construction for the unique indoor garden. Featuring elements in the skylit environment such as life-size faux trees and other native foliage, semi-private alcoves with cushioned seating, stone-tiled walkways for leisurely walks, and daylight or moon-beam lighting, H.B. Stubbs Companies helped to create a low-maintenance, yet warm and comforting, garden environment for patients and their families.
